The Arthouse Gallery, Stradbally will host a photography exhibition by fine art photographer Ollie Byrne, to open on Thursday 17th October at 7pm. The exhibition titled “Of Time and Place” will be officially launched by photographer Bernie Morrow.

Ollie Byrne grew up in Edenderry, County Offaly. From an early age photography was a huge passion and although other interests came and went his love of the photographic medium never faded.

In 2010 Byrne decided to take this passion a step further and focus on photography full time. Through self-study, external courses and constantly photographing the landscape he worked on refining his photographic style.

Byrne’s strict aesthetic helps him avoid the trap of imitation or the creation of decorative art but instead to create images of true meaning and value.

“Of Time And Place” consists of 10 pieces of monochrome landscape photography taken between 2011 and 2013.  Byrne chose his exhibition images not only for their aesthetic merit but also for their personal merit.

Bernie Morrow is a photographer of landscapes and people.  Since graduating from Art College she has combined a passion for hill walking with photographing the wild and mountainous areas of Ireland, Britain and further afield. She runs a popular series of photography courses in Clane College, catering for all levels from beginners to the more advanced and Fetac.

The exhibition runs from Thursday 17th October until Friday 15th November

Exhibition opening hours: Tues-Fri 1-4pm

or by appointment by contacting Vernon McNicholas on 057 8641740.
